IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is a protocol that allows you to access your email messages from multiple devices and keep them in sync. With IMAP enabled, you can use a desktop email client like Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird to access your Gmail messages, as well as any messages you’ve sent or received from other devices.

Keep in mind that you’ll need to set up your email client to use IMAP in order to access your Gmail messages. You may also need to enable “less secure app access” in your Google Account security settings in order to use IMAP with certain email clients.
